BPJS Kesehatan CEO Urges Public to Start Exercising to Maintain Health
The President Director of the Social Security Administering Body for Health (BPJS Kesehatan), Prihati Pujowaskito, has invited the public to start exercising to maintain their health.
“This activity is primarily promotive and preventive to prevent hypertension and diabetes at a young age,” Prihati Pujowaskito said at a Health Fun Run event in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area in Jakarta on Sunday.
“It supports the government’s programme because healthcare costs will be low if we prevent disease,” Prihati Pujowaskito said.
He urged the public to ensure their BPJS Kesehatan membership status is active.
“The most important thing is that your BPJS must be active,” he said.
The event was attended by the President’s Special Envoy for Youth Development and Arts Workers, Raffi Ahmad.
Raffi Ahmad advised the younger generation to start adopting healthy lifestyle behaviours so that their health remains in prime condition.
“Health is expensive, health is important. Healthy food, a healthy lifestyle, enough sleep. Don’t start living healthily tomorrow, start now,” Raffi Ahmad said.
He added that the spirit of mutual cooperation, or gotong royong, is the core essence of the National Health Insurance (JKN) Programme.
According to him, through the spirit of gotong royong, healthy participants help those who are sick, and those who are able help those who are less fortunate, thus ensuring all participants receive sustainable health protection.
“Gotong royong is a value that must be continuously upheld. The public is also reminded to maintain their health by adopting a healthy lifestyle from an early age. For the younger generation, do not delay starting healthy habits, because maintaining health can be done by consuming healthy food, exercising regularly, and adopting a healthy lifestyle,” Raffi Ahmad said.
