BPJS Kesehatan’s Batam branch in the Riau Islands provided a mobile outreach service with its ‘BPJS Keliling’ unit at the 136th Infantry Battalion Tuah Sakti Barelang complex, aiming to make it easier for the public to manage their National Health Insurance (JKN) membership.

Head of BPJS Kesehatan Batam Branch, Harry Nurdiansyah, stated that the agency continuously strives to optimise and reach JKN participants through various service channels, one of which is the mobile BPJS Keliling. “Serving JKN participants wholeheartedly and dedicating ourselves to the nation is part of the values upheld by BPJS Kesehatan Ambassadors. Bringing BPJS Kesehatan directly to JKN participants is a commitment made to facilitate access to services, especially for participants located in the country’s frontier regions,” he said when confirmed in Batam on Monday.

The ‘Layanan di Ujung Negeri’ (LANURI) activity is part of the celebrations for BPJS Kesehatan’s 58th Anniversary. “Approximately 50 people stopped by our service point,” Harry said.

Various administrative services opened at the mobile BPJS Keliling included new participant registration, participant data updates, membership status checks, and education on using the Mobile JKN application. In addition to administrative services, BPJS Kesehatan Ambassadors also provided education to the public on the importance of keeping their membership status active so that health protection can be utilised whenever needed.

JKN participant Astaman expressed his appreciation for the service, which simplified JKN administration. “As part of the infantry, we are often busy with duties and frequently face obstacles in accessing administrative services, whether online or by going directly to the office,” Astaman said.

Meanwhile, JKN participant Sonia, 39, also shared her delight with the mobile BPJS Keliling service, as it saved her time after returning from shopping. “I am not someone who can use a mobile phone, so I am happier when there is a service like this. I just ask questions and they get answered, and all my needs are taken care of. Earlier, I wanted to ask about instalment contributions and reporting a deceased participant,” Sonia said.
