BPJS Kesehatan Awards Raffi Ahmad the Title of Honorary Ambassador
BPJS Kesehatan has awarded the title of Honorary Ambassador of BPJS Kesehatan to Raffi Ahmad. The conferment of this title is a form of appreciation for Raffi Ahmad’s tangible contributions in supporting the strengthening of the JKN Programme, as well as part of the strategy to expand public education through a figure close to society across generations.
The Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, stated that the JKN Programme has now developed into one of the largest social health insurance systems in the world, with a membership coverage of 284.9 million people, or more than 98 per cent of Indonesia’s population. According to her, this success stems from the spirit of mutual cooperation that forms the main foundation of the JKN Programme.
“The JKN Programme is not merely a healthcare service financing system, but a representation of the Indonesian nation’s values of togetherness. Through mutual cooperation, healthy participants help those who are ill, and those who are able help those in need. These values must be continuously upheld together,” said Pujo.
She explained that the sustainability of the JKN Programme requires support from all elements of society, including public figures who can convey positive messages widely. In the current digital era, public communication is an important aspect in increasing public understanding of the rights, obligations, and benefits of being a JKN Programme participant.
The designation of Raffi Ahmad as the first recipient of the Honorary Ambassador title of BPJS Kesehatan is based on several strategic considerations. In addition to being known as the President’s Special Envoy for Youth Development, a public figure, and a popular artist in the public eye, Raffi Ahmad is also assessed to have high social concern, actively building collaborations, and able to reach young generations and the productive society.
Furthermore, Pujo said that Raffi Ahmad has demonstrated exemplary conduct as a public figure and artist who has registered his workers or employees along with their family members as JKN Programme participants. This step reflects compliance with regulations as well as a commitment to providing health protection for workers, particularly in the arts sector.
“Raffi Ahmad not only has significant influence in the public sphere but also sets an example through concrete actions. His concern in registering workers along with their family members as JKN Programme participants shows that health protection for workers is a shared responsibility that can start from each respective business environment,” said Pujo.
Pujo added that collaboration with public figures is expected to strengthen public literacy regarding the importance of active participation, compliance with premium payments, and proper utilisation of healthcare services.
Thus, more and more people will understand that the JKN Programme is a state programme whose benefits are directly felt by all layers of society.
“We believe that Raffi Ahmad’s presence as an Honorary Ambassador of BPJS Kesehatan will become positive energy in spreading the spirit of mutual cooperation and social concern. The awarding of the Honorary Ambassador title is not merely appreciation, but an invitation for all elements of the nation to move together in maintaining the sustainability of the JKN Programme,” Pujo concluded.
A member of the BPJS Kesehatan Supervisory Board, Rukijo, emphasised that the awarding of the Honorary Ambassador title of BPJS Kesehatan serves as a symbol representing the organisation’s values, exemplary figures, and a communication bridge capable of expanding public understanding of the importance of health protection through the JKN Programme.
For him, the presence of public figures like Raffi Ahmad also has strategic value in expanding communication reach and strengthening public trust in the JKN Programme.
Meanwhile, Raffi Ahmad expressed his appreciation for the trust given by BPJS Kesehatan through the Honorary Ambassador title award.
According to him, the award has great meaning as well as becoming a mandate to help voice the importance of health protection for Indonesian society.
“The JKN Programme is a manifestation of the state’s presence for all layers of society. The state strives to provide the most basic protection for all layers of the Indonesian population, namely the certainty of obtaining quality healthcare access without being burdened by high costs,” said Raffi.
According to him, a healthy lifestyle needs to be built from a young age by regularly exercising, maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle, consuming nutritious food, and building a positive mindset. He assessed that maintaining health from an early stage is an important investment for one’s own future as well as the family.
“I invite all Indonesian people to actively become participants, be disciplined in paying premiums, and together maintain the sustainability of the JKN Programme. Let us nurture this spirit of mutual cooperation so that the JKN Programme can continue to be present and continue to protect every Indonesian society whenever and wherever. With mutual cooperation, everyone is helped,” Raffi concluded.
