BPJS Kesehatan and Stakeholders Push to Optimise National Health Insurance Programme in North Maluku
BPJS Kesehatan and stakeholders in North Maluku are strengthening their commitment to providing quality and equitable healthcare services for the entire community through a cross-sector communication and partnership forum.
“This activity serves as an open dialogue space to discuss various strategic issues, ranging from increasing membership coverage, maintaining participant activeness, to encouraging compliance with JKN premium payments,” said Mokhamad Cucu Zakaria, Deputy Director of Region X for BPJS Kesehatan, accompanied by Meryta Oktaviane Rondonuwu, Head of the BPJS Kesehatan Ternate Branch, in Ternate on Friday.
Beyond discussing strategic issues, the forum also aims to improve the quality of healthcare services to ensure the public receives fast, easy, and high-quality care.
During the forum, it was noted that membership coverage and participant activeness levels still face challenges, including a decline in the number of active participants, which is a shared concern.
“BPJS Kesehatan also emphasised the importance of strengthening the financing side of the JKN Programme. Until May 2026, the contribution of premium payments in North Maluku Province will continue to be optimised as an effort to maintain the programme’s sustainability,” he stated.
He said this effort is carried out through educating the public on the importance of paying premiums regularly as a form of mutual cooperation within the national health insurance system.
Furthermore, improving the quality of healthcare services is also a priority, particularly at first-level health facilities (FKTP).
“Various service strengthening strategies are continuously being implemented so that the public can access healthcare services optimally without obstacles,” he added.
These efforts are in line with the government’s policy to ensure every citizen has adequate health protection.
“Collaboration is key. With strong synergy, we can ensure the JKN programme continues to deliver real benefits to the community. This is the shared spirit that emerged in the forum,” he remarked.
He expressed hope that with the active support of all stakeholders, the JKN programme will become stronger in guaranteeing easy, equitable, and quality access to healthcare services for all people of North Maluku.
This was the main focus of the Communication and Partnership Forum for Stakeholders of the National Health Insurance (JKN) Programme in North Maluku Province, organised by BPJS Kesehatan. The strategic forum brought together various important elements, including Deputy Director of Region X for BPJS Kesehatan Mokhamad Cucu Zakaria, Assistant III for General Administration of North Maluku Province M. Sukur Lila, and Head of the BPJS Kesehatan Ternate Branch Meryta Oktaviane Rondonuwu.
