BPJS Kesehatan has affirmed that the entire process of managing membership is not subject to any fees or is 100% free. This was stated by Director of Membership at BPJS Kesehatan, Akmal Budi Yulianto, in response to ongoing reports from the public regarding individuals demanding payments while claiming to represent BPJS Kesehatan. According to Akmal, the public should be wary of any demands for payment claimed to be required for activation, registration, data changes, or other membership administrative services. “We affirm that all membership management at BPJS Kesehatan is 100% free. If any party demands payment in the name of BPJS Kesehatan, that is not an official procedure and must be reported immediately,” Akmal said in a statement on Friday (17/4/2026). He emphasised that all membership services, from registration and activation to data changes and other administrative services, are provided without charge. Therefore, the public is asked not to entertain or make payments to any parties claiming they can assist with membership management in exchange for a fee. BPJS Kesehatan also encourages the public to use only official channels to access services, whether through BPJS Kesehatan branch offices, official digital service channels such as the Mobile JKN application, Care Center 165, or official communication media managed by BPJS Kesehatan, including social media. In addition, BPJS Kesehatan invites the public to actively participate by reporting any indications of illicit levies or unauthorised payment demands, accompanied by supporting evidence such as screenshots of conversations, transaction proofs, or other documentation. Reports can be submitted through the nearest BPJS Kesehatan branch office, official complaint channels, complaint service email, or official BPJS Kesehatan social media accounts. Akmal affirmed that every incoming report will be followed up in accordance with applicable mechanisms and regulations. If violations are found, BPJS Kesehatan will firmly process the relevant parties. “BPJS Kesehatan is committed to maintaining the integrity and transparency of services. Public participation is very important to ensure that the JKN programme services run cleanly without any gratification,” he concluded.
