BPJS Kesehatan has ensured that services for participants in the National Health Insurance Programme (JKN) remain optimally accessible throughout the 2026 Eid holiday period. Various service conveniences have been prepared to enable the public to continue accessing both health services and membership administrative services, including those travelling home for the annual mudik journey.

The Director General of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, emphasised that JKN services must remain accessible to the public whenever and wherever they may be, including during the Eid homecoming period, which is a yearly tradition for Indonesian society. To ensure face-to-face services remain available, BPJS Kesehatan will open its branch offices on 18, 20, 23, and 24 March 2026 from 08:00 to 13:30 local time.

β€œThe Eid homecoming period should not become a barrier for participants to access healthcare services. BPJS Kesehatan ensures that JKN Programme services remain easily accessible, so the public can undertake their homecoming journey with confidence knowing their health protection is guaranteed,” said Pujo on Monday, 9 March 2026.

In support of the homecoming period, BPJS Kesehatan has also established Mudik Posts at several strategic locations from 13 to 16 March 2026. These posts are located at Merak Port, Pulo Gebang Terminal in East Jakarta, Cipularang Toll Rest Area 88A in Purwakarta, Cipali Toll Rest Area 166A in Majalengka, Ungaran Toll Rest Area 429A in Semarang, Masaran Toll Rest Area 519A in Sragen, Purabaya Terminal in Sidoarjo, and Soekarno-Hatta Port in Makassar. These posts provide information services, consultations, and service assistance for JKN participants during their journey.

The Director of Membership of BPJS Kesehatan, Akmal Budi Yulianto, explained that participants can also utilise various digital channels to access membership administrative services. Through the Mobile JKN Application, participants can change their data, change their primary health facility (FKTP), and access various other administrative services without needing to visit BPJS Kesehatan offices directly.

Furthermore, participants can check their membership status through Mobile JKN, Administrative Services via WhatsApp (PANDAWA) at 08118165165, or the Care Centre 165. Akmal urged participants to ensure their membership status remains active before undertaking their homecoming journey so that health services can be accessed without obstacles.

Meanwhile, the Director of Health Service Assurance at BPJS Kesehatan, Abdi Kurniawan Purba, stated that JKN participants can continue to access health services even when outside their residential area. If the primary health facility where participants are registered is closed or if they are outside their city, health services can still be obtained at other BPJS Kesehatan partner health facilities that are operating.

Information regarding health facilities that remain operational during the Eid holiday period can also be accessed through the Aplicares health facility search application. In this way, participants can identify the location of the nearest health facility that can provide services.

BPJS Kesehatan has also ensured continuity of services for participants with chronic illnesses, including participants in the Referral Back Programme (PRB). Participants can continue to obtain chronic medications at hospitals and FKTPs in accordance with applicable regulations, ensuring that their ongoing treatment continues uninterrupted during the Eid holiday period.

For its part, the General Chairman of the Indonesian Hospital Association (PERSI), Bambang Wibowo, stated that hospitals throughout Indonesia have prepared services for JKN participants during the Eid holiday period. According to him, hospitals will continue operating 24 hours a day whilst ensuring inpatient care, outpatient services, and haemodialysis services remain available to the public.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Indonesian Empowered Consumer Forum, Tulus Abadi, reminded the public to ensure their JKN membership status remains active before undertaking their homecoming journey to avoid experiencing administrative difficulties when requiring health services.

The National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) also urged the public to maintain good physical condition during their homecoming journey. The Head of the Traffic Accident Data Collection, Processing and Analysis Section of Korlantas Polri, Sandhi Wiedyanoe, emphasised that human error remains the primary cause of traffic accidents. Therefore, the public is urged to ensure their physical condition remains optimal before undertaking long-distance travel during the Eid homecoming and return period.
