BPJS Health Director Visits IKN Conditions, Gives Unexpected Response
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Director of BPJS Health, Prihati Pujowaskito, along with his team, conducted a working visit to several healthcare facilities in the East Kalimantan region, including the Central General Hospital (RSUP) of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), last Sunday (3/5/2026). The visit, directly welcomed by the Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, and his team, formed part of the review of healthcare service readiness as well as plans for developing BPJS Health services in the Nusantara area. During the review, Pujo stated that BPJS Health is also exploring opportunities to build a service office in IKN to strengthen access to healthcare services and financing for the community. “We will plan the construction of a Special IKN Service Office to expand service access for participants. Currently, face-to-face service operations closest to the IKN Authority Area can be handled at the BPJS Health Office in Penajam Paser Utara Regency,” he said in a written statement, quoted on Saturday (9/5/2026). Pujo and his entourage had the opportunity to directly observe the conditions of the Nusantara Capital City and review several strategic locations, including the site for the BPJS Health Office plot, the State Mosque, and the State Palace. This review provided a direct picture of the area’s readiness and the ongoing development of public facilities in Nusantara. “Regarding impressions of the IKN development, we give our appreciation. This is also a source of pride because Indonesia now has a majestic and neatly arranged capital, including its hospital facilities,” Pujo remarked. The Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, expressed thanks for the presence of the BPJS Health team in Nusantara. Basuki hopes that coordination and healthcare service support in IKN can continue to be strengthened in line with the area’s development. “Thank you for the visit from Mr Director and the BPJS team in the Nusantara Capital City. At this Ministry of Health Hospital, we hope that the rapport remains maintained, including future healthcare service support for Nusantara residents,” he emphasised.
