BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is encouraging informal workers or Non-Wage Recipients (BPU) to take advantage of a 50% reduction in contributions. This programme applies to Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Benefit Insurance (JKM) until December 2026.

Director of Membership at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Agung Nugroho, stated that this programme supports the government’s agenda. Its focus is on strengthening human resources and maintaining the purchasing power of workers in the informal sector.

“This is proof that the state cares deeply about protecting all Indonesian workers, especially those in the informal sector. Let us seize this opportunity so that no worker is left behind and works without protection,” said Agung in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday (2/4/2026).

Participants only need to pay Rp 8,400 per month from April to December 2026. The total contribution over nine months amounts to Rp 75,600.

Agung emphasised that the contribution discount does not reduce the benefits received by participants. The protection remains the same as in the normal scheme.

The benefits provided include compensation for work accidents up to a maximum of Rp 70 million. Medical treatment costs due to accidents are covered without limit according to medical needs. Death benefits reach a maximum of Rp 42 million. Participants also receive education scholarships for two children with a maximum value of Rp 174 million.

Partners include Indomaret, Alfamart, Pos Indonesia offices, banking agents, e-commerce platforms, and digital wallets.

“We remain committed to providing employment social security protection to all Indonesian workers. This protection is essential so that workers can work safely, productively, and prosperously,” said Agung.
