BPJS biometric technology eases patient services
The use of BPJS Kesehatan biometric technology is easing patient services at Ngoerah Central General Hospital (RSUP) in Denpasar, Bali, by accelerating the identity verification process for National Health Insurance (JKN) patients. Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar, stated during a review of services at RSUP Ngoerah on Wednesday that the government continues to strive to deliver quality health services through the JKN Programme. The minister, commonly known as Cak Imin, emphasised that his presence at the largest hospital in Denpasar was to ensure that national health insurance services are easy, fast, and without discrimination at every health facility. Meanwhile, BPJS Kesehatan Director of Health Service Assurance, Abdi Kurniawan Purba, said the improvement in JKN service quality is inseparable from government support and good collaboration with health facilities. He explained that innovations implemented in health facilities are expected to provide convenience for JKN participants from the moment they arrive at the hospital until they receive the required medical services. Starting from the registration process, an Online Queue is available via Mobile JKN, followed by identity verification through biometrics at the hospital, all designed to cut waiting times so participants are served more quickly and easily. JKN participant Riyanto, who was accompanying his wife for treatment, said he directly felt the benefits of the national health programme. The 71-year-old appreciated the administrative ease and the friendly, professional service from health workers, noting his wife’s condition is now more stable compared to previous emergency room visits.
