The Halal Product Assurance Organising Agency (BPJPH) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census in order to strengthen an accurate and integrated national data base. This support is being carried out through enhanced collaboration with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), particularly in the exchange and updating of data related to the development of the halal ecosystem.

BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan (Babe Haikal) stated that integrated data management is key to formulating targeted policies, including supporting the implementation of increasingly widespread halal certification obligations. He made this statement while receiving a working visit from BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti in Jakarta.

“We are participating in the success of the 2026 Economic Census. We are also continuing to synergise with BPS, including mutual updates, exchanges, and renewals of data, so that the resulting policies are increasingly accurate and impactful for the development of the halal ecosystem,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

He added that the economic census presents a strategic opportunity to strengthen the mapping of halal business actors in Indonesia. As a concrete form of support, BPJPH will deploy around 124,000 PPH assistants to help with the field data updating process.

“This is a joint effort to find the best opportunities for the advancement of the national economy,” he emphasised.

Meanwhile, BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti appreciated the collaboration with BPJPH.

“This cooperation has actually been ongoing since last year. And today we visited his office. We directly observed the laboratory facilities with very modern and advanced equipment,” Amalia revealed.

“This serves as proof of the seriousness in building an efficient and technology-based system. And of course, this is one of the proofs of BPJPH’s success under Babe Haikal’s leadership in becoming a super strategic agency,” she continued.

She explained that the 2026 Economic Census is planned to take place from May to August 2026 with national coverage involving various business sectors.

“Data updates will continue to be carried out periodically, not only in Jakarta, but also in various regions, including at the OPD level and at least in 30 cities,” she clarified.

In the event held on Monday (20/4) yesterday, Amalia also invited all stakeholders and the public to actively participate in successfully implementing the 2026 Economic Census as the foundation for inclusive and sustainable national economic development.

“Let us succeed the 2026 Economic Census,” she concluded.
