BPJPH Supports 2026 Economic Census, Strengthening Data Synergy for Halal Ecosystem Development
The Halal Product Assurance Organising Agency (BPJPH) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) as part of efforts to strengthen an accurate, up-to-date, and integrated national data base.
This support is manifested through enhanced collaboration with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), particularly in the exchange and updating of data relevant to the development of the national halal ecosystem.
BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan, commonly known as Babe Haikal, stated that integrated data management is key to formulating targeted policies, including supporting the implementation of increasingly widespread halal certification obligations.
“We are participating in the success of the 2026 Economic Census. We are also continuing to synergise with BPS, including mutual updating, exchanging, and renewing data, so that the resulting policies are increasingly accurate and impactful for the development of the halal ecosystem,” he said in a press release received by Kompas.com on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
Furthermore, he noted that the census presents a strategic opportunity to strengthen the mapping of halal business actors in Indonesia.
As part of concrete support, BPJPH will deploy around 124,000 halal product process assistants (PPH) to assist with data updating in the field.
“This is a joint effort to find the best opportunities for the progress of the national economy,” emphasised Babe Haikal.
“This cooperation has actually been ongoing since last year, and today we visited his office. We directly observed the laboratory facilities with very modern and advanced equipment,” she said.
Amalia added that these laboratory facilities demonstrate BPJPH’s seriousness in building an efficient, technology-based system, as well as evidence of BPJPH’s success under Babe Haikal’s leadership in becoming a super strategic agency.
She explained that the implementation of SE2026 is planned to take place from May to August 2026, with national coverage involving various business sectors.
She also invited all stakeholders and the public to actively participate in the success of SE2026 as an important foundation for inclusive and sustainable national economic development.
“Let us succeed the 2026 Economic Census,” stated Amalia.
