The Halal Product Assurance Organising Body (BPJPH) has signed a recognition agreement with the foreign halal institution (LHLN) Halal Madani Certification & Inspection Services in Shenzhen, China.

BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that this cooperation represents a strategic step in strengthening the connectivity of Indonesia’s halal product assurance system with the global halal ecosystem.

“This recognition agreement serves as an important instrument for strengthening the linkage between Indonesia’s halal certification system and foreign halal institutions, enabling the recognition process to proceed more quickly, measurably, and while maintaining applicable halal standards,” said Haikal.

Furthermore, he explained that this cooperation encompasses recognition of halal certification for food products, consumer goods, storage, packaging, and distribution.

Such elements, he continued, are crucial components in the global halal product supply chain.

Haikal hopes that this recognition will accelerate cross-country distribution processes while ensuring compliance with halal standards is maintained.

Additionally, Haikal emphasised that packaging, storage, and distribution play a strategic role in supporting the smooth distribution of halal products between countries.

“The scope of packaging, storage, and distribution is directly related to the distribution system within the supply chain. Therefore, we are accelerating this recognition agreement process to meet industry needs while ensuring the flow of global halal products can proceed more effectively,” said Haikal.

He added that this step is part of efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global halal ecosystem, while maintaining a balance between the smooth flow of goods and the certainty of halal standards.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Halal Madani Certification & Inspection Services Shenzhen, Liu Tian Lai, stated that his side continues to enhance service capacity to support the implementation of this cooperation.

“We are strengthening certification capacity through the addition of auditors and the reinforcement of halal testing infrastructure, so that the certification process can run more reliably and in alignment with global supply chain needs,” said Liu.

On the other hand, Director of Partnerships and Cooperation at BPJPH, Fertiana Santy, added that this cooperation will enhance the readiness of halal certification services in responding to the dynamics and developments of highly competitive industry needs.

“Through the signing of this recognition agreement, BPJPH is strengthening its role in ensuring the global halal product supply chain operates more efficiently, adaptively, and still meets Indonesian halal standards,” she said.
