BPJPH Receives Land Grant from Central Java Provincial Government for Construction of UPT Halal Product Assurance Services Building
The Halal Product Assurance Organising Agency (BPJPH) has received a land grant from the Central Java Provincial Government (Pemprov Jateng) for the construction of a technical implementation unit (UPT) building for Halal Product Assurance (JPH) services.
The land grant handover was combined with the signing of a joint commitment between BPJPH and the governments of regencies and cities throughout Central Java to accelerate halal certification in the region. The event was held at the Gradhika Bhakti Praja Building, in the Central Java Governor’s Office Complex, Semarang, on Tuesday (21/04/2026).
The event was attended by Central Java Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen, BPJPH Main Secretary Muhammad Aqil Irham, BPJPH Deputy for Halal Registration and Certification Mamat Salamet Burhanuddin, and Acting Assistant for Economy and Development of the Central Java Regional Secretary AR Hanung Triyono.
Also present were Head of the Central Java Halal Product Assurance Organising Agency Ika Efrilia, Head of Economy and Natural Resources Division of the Central Java Provincial Bappeda Erna Widijastuti, and Chairman of the Central Java Provincial Baznas Ahmad Daroji.
The land grant handover is part of strengthening JPH services in the regions to bring halal certification services closer to business actors and increase the effectiveness of JPH guidance and supervision.
On that occasion, Taj Yasin reaffirmed the Central Java Provincial Government’s commitment to supporting the acceleration of halal certification as part of regional economic development.
“We appreciate this step as a joint effort to accelerate the achievement of halal certification,” he said in a written statement received by Kompas.com.
Taj Yasin stated that the programme aligns with the Central Java Provincial Government’s commitment to developing the sharia economy and sustainable tourism as pillars of regional economic growth.
In the meeting, BPJPH Main Secretary Muhammad Aqil Irham was the party receiving the land grant for the construction of the UPT JPH Services Building. He appreciated the Central Java Provincial Government for its contribution to strengthening the national halal ecosystem.
“We express our thanks for the support from the Central Java Provincial Government. This land grant becomes an important foundation in strengthening JPH services in the regions and encouraging broader halal certification acceleration,” said Aqil.
He added that strengthening halal services in the regions aligns with the implementation of mandatory halal certification policies.
This is as regulated in legislation and contributes to increasing the competitiveness of national products.
Meanwhile, BPJPH Deputy for Halal Registration and Certification Mamat Salamet Burhanuddin emphasised that strengthening services in the regions is a key factor in accelerating the implementation of mandatory halal certification policies.
