BPJPH: Indonesia to Recognise Two Halal Certifications for US Imported Products
The Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) has reaffirmed that the reciprocal cooperation agreement between the Indonesian government and the United States does not abolish halal certification and labelling obligations for products entering and circulating within Indonesian territory.
BPJPH Chief Ahmad Haikal Hasan, commonly known as Babe Haikal, revealed that imported products from the United States will bear two halal labels on their packaging: one issued by American authorities and another from Indonesia.
The clarification was made during the Power Lunch programme on CNBC Indonesia on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.
