BPJPH Enhances Halal Supervisors' Competence to Strengthen Halal Product Assurance System Implementation
The Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH), through its Deputy for Development and Supervision of Halal Product Assurance (JPH), organised the “Improving the Quality of Halal Supervisors Batch 2” event in Jakarta on Tuesday (31/3/2026). The event was attended by 125 halal supervisors from micro and small business actors (UMK) as part of efforts to strengthen human resource capacity in the national halal ecosystem. The activity was held to strengthen the implementation of the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) at the business actor level. Deputy for Development and Supervision of JPH, EA Chuzaemi Abidin, emphasised the importance of clarity in the role of halal supervisors in supporting the optimal implementation of SJPH in companies. He stated that currently, the Directorate of JPH Development is drafting guidelines for halal supervisors as a reference that provides clarity on the scope of duties and responsibilities of halal supervisors. Thus, the implementation of SJPH in companies can run more effectively. This effort is in line with government policies in implementing phased halal certification obligations as mandated by Law (UU) No. 33 of 2014 and Government Regulation No. 42 of 2024. The JPH regulations position halal supervisors as a key element in ensuring the consistency of SJPH implementation at the business actor level. Meanwhile, Director of JPH Development Muhammad Farid Wadjdi said that the Improving the Quality of Halal Supervisors activity aims to enhance understanding as well as strengthen the competence of halal supervisors in applying SJPH consistently in the business environment. Through the training, strengthening coordination between halal supervisors and company management, which is a key factor in maintaining the sustainability of SJPH implementation, can be realised. Good coordination is the key to ensuring all production processes run consistently according to halal standards. In addition, BPJPH also encourages halal supervisors not only to understand theoretical aspects but also to implement SJPH optimally.
