BPJPH emphasises integrity in supervision ahead of 2026 Mandatory Halal
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Halal Product Assurance Organising Agency (BPJPH) has emphasised the importance of integrity in halal product assurance (JPH) supervision ahead of the implementation of the mandatory halal requirement in October 2026.
BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan, in his statement in Jakarta on Monday, stressed that integrity is the primary foundation in carrying out supervision duties.
“Supervision is not only related to technical aspects and compliance with regulations, but also concerns moral commitment and personal responsibility of every apparatus,” he said.
To this end, BPJPH is organising JPH technical guidance activities as part of efforts to strengthen human resource capacity in supporting the national halal product assurance policy implementation.
Meanwhile, BPJPH Chief Secretary Muhamad Aqil Irham reminded that the role of JPH supervisors is becoming increasingly crucial as the mandatory halal enforcement period in October 2026 approaches.
Therefore, he emphasised the importance of the active role of JPH supervisors in conducting socialisation to business actors, especially those who do not yet have halal certificates.
“JPH supervisors have a strategic role in ensuring that business actors understand and promptly fulfil the halal certification obligation,” Aqil said.
This activity, he continued, is part of BPJPH’s strategy in facing the increasingly complex dynamics of halal product assurance implementation, while also strengthening the apparatus’s readiness in carrying out supervision functions effectively.
“Strengthening the integrity of the apparatus is a key element in building a credible JPH supervision system to support the success of the Mandatory Halal implementation in October 2026,” he said.
