Jakarta (ANTARA) - Secretary of the Main Secretariat of the Halal Product Assurance Administration Agency (BPJPH) Muhammad Aqil Irham emphasised that his agency is committed to accelerating halal certification services, especially for Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG).

“SPPG is an important part of public nutrition service. Therefore, the halal certification process for SPPG is prioritized through professional, fast, accessible services while maintaining the quality of halal inspections in accordance with the applicable provisions,” Aqil Irham said.

During a briefing in Jakarta on Wednesday, he added that accelerating halal certification has become an important priority for BPJPH ahead of the implementation of the Wajib Halal policy in October 2026, particularly in the nutrition service sector such as SPPG that supports the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme.

Furthermore, he said that the acceleration of halal certification for SPPG is being achieved in part by strengthening the capacity of the Halal Audit Board (LPH) and the professionalism of halal auditors to realise first-class LPH services that are timely and affordable for the public and business actors.

This, he added, will ensure that the certification process runs professionally, is easily accessible, timely according to the SLA (service level agreement), and supported by excellent services at affordable costs for the public and business players.

“Halal certification is a duty for all business actors. Therefore, the role of LPH and halal auditors is increasingly strategic in ensuring the halal inspection process runs in accordance with standards and applicable provisions,” Aqil Irham said.

He added that BPJPH continues to promote ease of halal certification services so that business actors, including those managing SPPGs, can obtain services that are fast, accountable, and high quality.

Inspections and testing of halal products, he continued, must also be conducted with high commitment, integrity, and professionalism because halal is not only about sharia and science, but also about public trust, product quality, and the competitiveness of the national halal industry.
