Tanah Datar Regency – BPJN Sumbar targets completing the repairs to Lembah Anai Road, damaged by flash floods at the end of November 2025, by July 2026. ‘Target rampung keseluruhannya di Juli 2026. Ini sesuai dengan instruksi Menteri Pekerjaan Umum dan Direktorat Jenderal Bina Marga,’ said Elsa Putra Friandi, Head of BPJN Sumbar, in Tanah Datar on Friday during an inspection of progress on the Lembah Anai Road with Andi Mulia Rusli, Head of the Regional Work Unit I. Friandi said that in general they had already strengthened all affected points with bore-pile construction shortly after the disaster struck. For further works, the type of road repair construction remains the same as before, but there are some adjustments to bore-pile dimensions. This is because at some locations the bore piles are quite deep. He further explained that the changes to bore-pile dimensions were made to anticipate protection against erosion by river currents at those locations. Meanwhile, there has been no widening of the road; the route will be restored to its original width, with additional work on the shoulder. Separately, BPJN affirmed that the railway track near the disaster-affected area, which falls under the Balai Teknik Perkeretaapian’s authority, will not be dismantled. ‘Yesterday the Ministry of Culture also stated that dismantling would not be carried out,’ he added.
