BPJN ensures Lembah Anai corridor open 24 hours during Lebaran holiday
Tanah Datar Regency (ANTARA) - The National Roads Implementation Agency (BPJN) of West Sumatra (Sumbar) has confirmed that the Lembah Anai route, specifically the Sicincin–Padang Panjang KM 64 segment, will be opened 24 hours for four-wheeled vehicles during the Lebaran holiday from H-10 to H+10 Idul Fitri.
From H-10, a 24-hour traffic opening for two lanes in both directions will be possible. This applies initially to four-wheeled vehicles and will subsequently follow the provisions of the police and the Department of Transportation.
Elsa Putra said the road section’s opening had earlier been targeted for H-7 Idul Fitri, but BPJN brought it forward to H-10 thanks to the acceleration and hard work by PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) which has been fast-tracking the physical works.
He also said bore pile works had been carried out for the location cut by the flood in November 2025 so it’s now connected.
“Total overall progress stands at around 44 percent, with bore pile works at 77 percent,” he said.
As part of Lebaran preparations, three heavy equipment units will be on standby and a post will be set up. The equipment is needed because some locations remain prone to disasters, especially potential landslides.
“So we will have heavy equipment ready if a landslide occurs, allowing staff to immediately carry out clearance on site,” he stressed.
Regarding the continuous 24-hour opening after Lebaran, BPJN will evaluate the use of the road. The location is among five of 15 locations that currently require substantial heavy equipment for post-disaster repairs.
However, he assured that every effort would be made to ensure road users and the people in Ranah Minang can travel comfortably along the road up to the Twin Margayasa Bridge on the border of Padang Panjang.”
