BPIP Selects 76 National Paskibraka Members for 2026, Two Students from Southeast Sulawesi to Represent the Region at the State Palace
The Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) of the Republic of Indonesia has officially selected 76 members for the 2026 national-level Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka (Paskibraka), the flag-hoisting squad. They consist of 38 pairs of the best male and female students from all provinces in Indonesia who will serve at the 81st Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia ceremony at the State Palace on 17 August 2026. The announcement of the national Paskibraka members was made directly by the Head of BPIP, Yudian Wahyudi, during a press conference broadcast via BPIP’s official YouTube channel on Monday (22/6).
From the 76 selected members, Southeast Sulawesi Province is sending two of its best representatives, namely Laode Reyhan Putra Satria Korwa, a student from SMAN 2 Baubau, and Waode Bintang Adisya, a student from SMAN 1 Kulisusu, North Buton Regency. Both successfully passed the national selection process and will be part of the team hoisting the Red and White flag at the state ceremony at the State Palace. This achievement is a source of pride for the people of Southeast Sulawesi, as local youths have once again been entrusted with carrying out this national duty.
The Head of the National Unity and Politics Agency of Southeast Sulawesi Province, Andrian, stated that the national selection results were announced simultaneously via the BPIP live broadcast on Monday at around 11.30 Central Indonesian Time. He explained that Southeast Sulawesi Province had previously sent three pairs of Paskibraka candidates to participate in the national selection. From the selection results, one pair was declared successful in representing Southeast Sulawesi at the national level, namely Laode Reyhan Putra Satria Korwa from SMAN 2 Baubau and Waode Bintang Adisya from SMAN 1 Kulisusu, North Buton Regency. Andrian noted that the national Paskibraka selection is part of a youth development process that assesses not only physical ability but also discipline, leadership, national insight, character, and commitment to Pancasila values.
According to Andrian, the two other pairs of candidates from Southeast Sulawesi who were not selected at the national level will automatically become members of the provincial-level Paskibraka. They will serve during the Independence Day ceremony at the provincial level. The local government is currently awaiting the official summons from BPIP regarding the departure schedule and the implementation of centralised education and training for the national Paskibraka members. Reflecting on the previous year, the training camp is expected to be held in Cibubur for approximately one month. During this period, the national Paskibraka members will receive intensive coaching before carrying out their state duties on 17 August. In addition to their flag-hoisting duties, the members will also undergo character building, national insight strengthening, and Pancasila ideology coaching. Andrian expressed his hope that Laode Reyhan Putra Satria Korwa and Waode Bintang Adisya would complete the entire education and training programme responsibly and uphold the good name of Southeast Sulawesi at the national level. He urged them to maintain the region’s reputation, look after their physical and mental condition, remain humble, and stay focused on all stages of the training they will undergo.
