BPIP Releases Official 2026 Pancasila Day Ceremony Schedule and Full Speech Text
The Badan Pembinaan Ideologi Pancasila (BPIP) has officially released guidelines for the 2026 Pancasila Day commemoration. The document outlines the background, theme, objectives, ceremony structure, and official speech text. According to the National Education Museum’s official website, the history of Pancasila Day is inseparable from President Sukarno, who first proposed the nation’s foundational principles, named Pancasila, on 1 June 1945. Sukarno’s proposal consisted of five principles: Indonesian Nationalism, Internationalism or Humanitarianism, Consensus or Democracy, Social Welfare, and Belief in the One Supreme God. Ladies and gentlemen, fellow countrymen, today, 1 June 2026, we stand once more on sacred soil to commemorate Pancasila Day. Beyond an annual ceremony, this is a moment for reflection to ensure the spirit of Pancasila remains alive in every Indonesian. The theme for the 2026 commemoration is ‘Pancasila, Unifier of the Nation, Foundation of World Peace’, a clear statement that Pancasila’s noble values are not only relevant for preserving Indonesia’s unity but also provide a solution for lasting global peace. Pancasila is a ‘guiding star’ that has proven its resilience. Amid a world marked by uncertainty and fragmentation threats, Indonesia stands firm as a tangible example of how diversity across over 17,000 islands and hundreds of ethnic groups can be united under one national bond. Pancasila serves as our ‘moral anchor’ in confronting global turbulence, from technological disruptions to geopolitical dynamics. Fellow countrymen, Indonesia is not merely an observer on the global stage. In line with the 1945 Constitution’s preamble, we have a constitutional duty to contribute to a world order based on independence, perpetual peace, and social justice.
