BPIP Proposes Additional Rp370 Billion Budget for 2027

The Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) has proposed an additional budget of Rp370.46 billion for 2027, as well as Rp343 billion for the construction of education and training facilities for officials and the national flag-hoisting squad (Paskibraka).

BPIP Head Yudian Wahyudi stated at the parliament complex in Jakarta on Monday that the agency had received an indicative budget ceiling of Rp141.07 billion for 2027, based on a joint letter from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Development Planning. “We convey that, based on this indicative ceiling allocation, an additional budget of Rp370,457,677,928 is still required,” Yudian said.

Furthermore, BPIP proposed an additional Rp343 billion for the construction of facilities and infrastructure for a Pancasila education and training centre aimed at high-ranking pratama and madya officials across Indonesia. According to Yudian, the facility is necessary to support education and training for approximately 20,767 such officials. The facility would also be used for the centralised training of prospective national-level Paskibraka members, requiring a field and educational spaces. “The assumed land area required is around seven hectares,” he said.

Meanwhile, House of Representatives Commission XIII member Rieke Diah Pitaloka expressed disagreement with the proposed construction of the training building. Rieke argued that the additional BPIP budget should be prioritised to strengthen Pancasila ideology programmes in accordance with legislative mandates. She considered the proposed building budget to be substantial given the current limited fiscal conditions. “This amount is equivalent to about 67 percent of BPIP’s total budget requirement after the addition, and is even larger than the total proposed budget for Pancasila ideology development programmes,” Rieke said.
