BPIP Equips Sleman Youth with Pancasila Values
The Badan Pembinaan Ideologi Pancasila (BPIP) emphasises strengthening the character of the younger generation as a provision to face global changes. Pancasila ideology development was held in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta, on Friday (8/5/2026), involving hundreds of participants from youth and educators.
Head of the Badan Pembinaan Ideologi Pancasila (BPIP) Yudian Wahyudi stated that Pancasila must serve as the direction in national development as well as a guide to facing global dynamics.
“Pancasila as the basis and ideology of the state as well as the nation’s way of life is a ‘static table’ that unites various existing diversities, while also serving as a ‘dynamic leitstar’ or guiding star for the dynamic journey’s direction, towards which we move the people, nation, and Indonesian state,” Yudian stressed in his speech, based on a press release on Saturday (9/5/2026).
In the event, Yudian highlighted the challenges of higher education in building national character. According to Yudian, weak national commitment influences various social problems faced by the nation.
“Pancasila lecturers as the spearhead in Pancasila education have a heavy but noble responsibility. Because, the various challenges that arise due to various national and international problems currently plaguing our nation in various aspects of life are rooted in weak character and national commitment,” he added.
The Sleman Regency Government also reported strengthening Pancasila values at the village level through the establishment of Pancasila Villages. Sleman Regency Secretary Susmiarto stated that there are 41 Pancasila Villages with a total of 1,435 cadres actively providing community guidance.
“It is necessary for us to convey guidance from the Kesbangpol Agency colleagues, we already have 41 Pancasila Villages, in each village there are 35 [cadres] so the total is 1,435 Pancasila Cadres,” Susmiarto revealed.
The socialisation event was attended by around 500 participants, focusing on enhancing the capacity of the younger generation to face 21st-century challenges. Deputy for Research and Materials at BPIP Surahno stated that the event encourages improvements in critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, innovation, and communication among the youth.
“The participants in this socialisation event number 500 people and the implementation of this socialisation aims to increase understanding and knowledge about Pancasila values, so it is hoped that the younger generation can later have competencies in critical thinking, collaboration competencies, creative and innovative competencies, and of course communication. Thus, the goal of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision can be realised together,” Surahno explained.
BPIP assesses that strengthening Pancasila values among the younger generation is an important factor in preparing human resources towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
