The Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), Yudian Wahyudi, has emphasised that the values of Pancasila are not sufficiently understood merely as lesson material or memorised. According to him, Pancasila must be manifested as character and a culture of life, especially among the younger generation.

Yudian made this statement while delivering a keynote address at a Pancasila Ideology Development Socialisation event organised by BPIP’s Directorate of Socialisation and Communication in Jambi City. The event was attended by teachers from senior high schools, junior high schools, primary schools, and Islamic senior high schools across Jambi City, as well as Deputy Governor of Jambi Abdullah Sani, Mayor of Jambi Maulana, and members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

Yudian stated that the challenges facing Indonesia today are not only related to the economy, politics, or technological advancement, but also concern ideological resilience as the foundation of national unity. “A great nation is built not only by economic strength and technological progress, but also by a strong ideology. Pancasila is the foundation that unites all of Indonesia’s diversity. Therefore, the younger generation must be pioneers in bringing the values of Pancasila to life in every action, not just memorising it as a text, but making it a character and a culture of life,” he said.

He stressed that ideological development must not stop at ceremonial activities. The values of Pancasila must be internalised through ways of thinking, attitudes, and behaviour in daily life. “What we want to build is a shared way of thinking, behaving, and acting based on the values of Pancasila. When the younger generation is able to internalise these values in their daily lives, they will become the main bastion of national unity as well as the driving force for Indonesia towards a Golden Indonesia 2045,” he added.

Yudian noted that strengthening ideology requires collaboration from various parties, ranging from the government, the education sector, community leaders, and youth organisations, to families. He said this synergy is necessary so that the practice of Pancasila grows as a collective awareness within society.

Deputy Governor of Jambi Abdullah Sani stated that the Jambi Provincial Government supports the various Pancasila ideology development programmes run by BPIP. He said that Pancasila must continue to be safeguarded as the nation’s unifying bond amidst the changing times. “Pancasila is the glue of the nation that must not be eroded by the times. We welcome the presence of BPIP in Jambi Province and are ready to strengthen synergy so that the values of Pancasila become more deeply rooted in society, especially among the younger generation as the nation’s successors,” he said.

Mayor of Jambi Maulana stated that the city government is ready to support the strengthening of the younger generation’s character through the inculcation of Pancasila values. “The Jambi City Government is ready to collaborate in providing educational spaces that instil Pancasila values in the younger generation,” he said.

BPIP stated that it will continue to expand its Pancasila ideology development programme through collaboration with regional governments, the education sector, and community organisations as an effort to strengthen the character of the younger generation while maintaining national unity.
