BPH Migas Responds to Circulating Decree on Restrictions for Purchasing Diesel and Pertalite
JAKARTA – The Head of BPH Migas, Wahyudi Anas, has spoken out regarding information circulating about the Decree of the Head of BPH Migas RI Number 024/KOM/BPH.DBBM/2026 concerning restrictions on subsidised fuel prices effective from 1 April 2026. Wahyudi stated that BPH Migas has not issued any announcement, either directly or through its official website.
“So, like this, on the website or officially from us, there is nothing,” said Wahyudi during the Closing of the National ESDM Sector Post for the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 Period at the BPH Migas Office, Jakarta, on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
Wahyudi said that BPH Migas is still awaiting an official decision from the government. He stated that BPH Migas will not take any action beforehand without a decision from the government.
“It’s impossible for us to regulate before the government issues a statement on the mechanism for the public to purchase fuel. That’s the essence. We do not expect BPH Migas to issue it earlier,” said Wahyudi.
Wahyudi conveyed that BPH Migas will certainly communicate directly once there is an official decision regarding fuel policy. Wahyudi said that BPH Migas will also follow up the decision with various other relevant agencies.
“If that decree is issued, it will be official from BPH, it will go to everywhere, and that document will definitely be conveyed to other relevant ministries/institutions. If it hasn’t reached there yet, it means it hasn’t in our current condition,” he added.
Wahyudi emphasised that fuel policy is fully under the government’s authority. BPH Migas, he continued, will follow up on whatever decision the government makes.
“Our country is led by the government. We assist the government. Once the government’s decision is made, we will certainly communicate it further,” said Wahyudi.
