BPH Migas: Pertamina to Redirect Fuel Supply from Sealed Jember Petrol Station
Jember, East Java — The head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPH Migas), Wahyudi Anas, stated that Pertamina Patra Niaga would redirect fuel supplies from petrol station 54.681.11 on Teuku Umar Street, Jember Regency, East Java, which was sealed, to ensure fuel stocks in the area remain adequate ahead of Lebaran 2026.
Jember Police sealed the petrol station on Teuku Umar Street on suspicion of irregularities in the distribution of subsidised diesel on Saturday (14 March).
“During the legal enforcement process, we are ensuring that fuel supplies in the surrounding area remain secure, especially ahead of Lebaran,” Wahyudi said in a written statement received in Jember Regency on Sunday.
According to him, the fuel allocation from the sealed station would be redirected to the nearest petrol stations so that the public could continue to obtain fuel without disruption and vehicle fuel needs would be adequately met.
At the sealed petrol station 54.681.11, average delivery orders were 16,000 litres, but the throughput (amount of fuel distributed) for sales reached 22,000 litres per day, with transactions dominated by recommendation letters issued for consumer user sector purchases.
The alleged misuse came to light after BPH Migas conducted a socialisation session on the issuance of recommendation letters for consumer users in Jember Regency the day before.
“Jember Police is conducting further investigations into allegations of subsidised fuel purchases and irregularities in transaction processes that do not comply with the established regulatory framework. The petrol station’s CCTV was also inactive at night,” he said.
“We urge all petrol stations to prioritise public services in accordance with regulations so that state fuel subsidies benefit eligible members of the public, thereby increasing community income and promoting regional economic growth,” he added.
Wahyudi stated that BPH Migas, Pertamina Patra Niaga, local government, and law enforcement agencies would continue to coordinate to ensure that purchases of state-subsidised fuel using recommendation letters for consumer users are carried out in accordance with regulations.
