Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) has stated that natural gas supplies are secure and reliable throughout the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) 1447 H/Eid 2026 period.

“Praise be to God, natural gas availability is secure, particularly during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. God willing, the reliability of gas distribution is more assured because it uses pipeline networks,” said BPH Migas Committee Member Baskara Agung Wibawa in an official statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Baskara conducted direct monitoring of natural gas network (jargas) services in Lamongan, East Java.

He directly inspected jargas operations by checking household and small business customers in the Lamongrejo and Tumenggung Noto areas of Lamongan. The monitoring results showed that natural gas supplies were in a secure condition without significant obstacles.

To ensure the jargas programme is increasingly on target and beneficial, BPH Migas also visited jargas user communities, while listening to aspirations as material for evaluation in the future development of natural gas networks.

Baskara added that the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) needs to be a joint concern so that they can continue to grow with support from reliable, affordable energy produced domestically.

“This is in line with the directive from the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia to massively expand the utilisation of jargas in order to reduce dependence on LPG imports,” he said.

Baskara also expressed appreciation to all parties who continue to work to maintain energy supplies during the holiday period.

“In particular to Pertamina, PGN, Gagas, and Pertagas, which have maintained the reliability of natural gas supplies so that the public can carry out their worship peacefully without energy constraints,” he stated.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PGN Sales & Operation Region III, Hedi Hedianto, stated that the management of jargas in his region continues to develop. To maintain reliability during RAFI 2026, PGN has prepared a 24-hour Disturbance Response Team.

Hedi also appreciated the synergy between the government and operators in maintaining the sustainability of energy services.

He assessed that the optimisation of jargas greatly supports the national energy sovereignty programme because it uses natural gas from domestic production.
