Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Badan Pengatur Hilir Minyak dan Gas Bumi (BPH Migas) is monitoring the availability of fuel oil (BBM) for marine vessels in preparation for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah at Merak Port, Banten. Arief Wardono, a member of the Badan Pengatur Hilir Minyak dan Gas Bumi (BPH Migas) Committee, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that as Eid al-Fitr approaches, public mobility is increasing, including the movement of holiday travellers from Java Island to Sumatra Island via the Merak-Bakauheni route. According to him, synergy between BPH Migas, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, and PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) needs to be continuously strengthened to ensure smooth services for the public during the mudik period by maintaining the supply of BBM for sea transport. “Our presence here together with Pertamina is to enable faster coordination and resolve any issues promptly, as the subsidised BBM for ASDP must be on target, thereby ensuring the smooth operation of ASDP vessels, especially during important moments like this,” Arief explained. The Merak-Bakauheni route is a crucial and busy link connecting Indonesia’s two largest islands by population. Arief also expressed appreciation to ASDP and Pertamina Patra Niaga for their preparedness in maintaining the smooth flow of mudik traffic on the Merak-Bakauheni route. “Thank you for your readiness in handling the massive movement of mudik passengers, ensuring they are served well,” he said.
