BPH Migas Head Reveals Realisation of Pertalite and Solar Fuel Distribution

The Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas), Wahyudi Anas, has detailed the realisation of subsidised fuel oil (BBM) distribution throughout 2026. He stated that consumption of Pertalite and Solar remains manageable despite an increase in demand in several regions.

For subsidised Solar diesel, the government prepared a volume approximately 112% compared to the 2025 realisation. As of the 172nd day of 2026, the distribution of Solar was recorded at 101.98% compared to the same period last year, an increase of around 1.98%.

Wahyudi explained that the increase was caused by a shift of some consumers from non-subsidised fuels, such as Dexlite and Pertamina Dex, to subsidised Solar. “People who previously used general fuel types like Dexlite or Pertamina Dex automatically want to get their entitlement as citizens. So they shifted to Solar. Currently, the progress on day 172 of distribution has reached 101.98%. There is an increase of 1.98%,” he said at the CNBC Indonesia Energy Forum in Jakarta.

He confirmed that the increase in consumption is still within reasonable limits. Meanwhile, for Pertalite, the government has prepared a quota of 29.27 million kilolitres in 2026, which is about 21% higher than normal requirements. However, as of mid-year, the actual consumption of Pertalite is still below the quota that has been prepared. “So the state provides 29.27 million kilolitres and there is an increase of about 21% from normal needs, and current consumption is still under. So, if people see queues of motorcycles or four-wheeled vehicles, the consumption is still not a problem,” he said.
