BPH Migas: Fuel Queues in Medan and Binjai Dispersed

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) has stated that queues of vehicles seeking to refuel at public filling stations (SPBU) in the Medan and Binjai areas of North Sumatra have now cleared.

Head of BPH Migas Wahyudi Anas, in a statement issued in Jakarta on Sunday, said efforts to restore fuel distribution in Medan and Binjai have shown positive results.

According to him, BPH Migas and PT Pertamina Patra Niaga have continued to strengthen fuel supply, so that service to the public has returned to normal.

Over the past two days, BPH Migas together with Pertamina have directly monitored a number of petrol stations in the Medan and Binjai areas. Vehicle queues have begun to decrease and conditions at the petrol stations have continued to improve.

“The results of monitoring the distribution points that were prone to fuel queues show that, thank God, operations are now running, cleared, and normal,” said Wahyudi during an inspection of the Medan Deli petrol station in Medan, North Sumatra, on Saturday (18/7/2026).

To ensure smooth distribution, fuel supply has also been reinforced with the addition of support tanker fleets (spot charter) and increased fuel supply volumes to petrol stations.

These measures were taken to maintain stock levels and ensure that service to the public is not interrupted.
