BPH Migas ensures smooth petrol distribution during extended holiday period
The public relies heavily on petrol during national holidays like this, and we are ensuring smooth distribution to meet demand without disruption. BPH Migas has assured petrol availability and smooth distribution during the Idul Adha 2026 holiday return period. BPH Migas Chief Wahyudi Anas personally monitored petrol availability and distribution at the Km 19A Bekasi Rest Area and Km 62B Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road service stations on Sunday (31 May 2026). According to Wahyudi’s statement in Jakarta on Monday, monitoring is necessary due to high vehicle traffic returning to Jakarta and surrounding areas. ‘We are monitoring the Cikampek toll road towards Jakarta as many people are returning from outside the city after the long holiday. We ensure petrol services, both stock and distribution to the public, are safe and smooth,’ he said. Wahyudi explained that national holidays typically see increased petrol consumption, particularly on major routes used for mudik and return traffic. BPH Migas, along with designated business entities, continues monitoring to ensure energy supply remains available. ‘The public relies heavily on petrol during national holidays like this, so we ensure distribution runs smoothly to meet community needs without disruption,’ he stressed. In addition to ensuring availability, Wahyudi urged the public to use petrol responsibly. Reasonable consumption patterns will help maintain smooth distribution and ensure all users receive optimal service. ‘Some conditions we observe show the public using petrol responsibly and reasonably. If they need 15, 20, or 25 litres, that’s what they buy. There’s no need to overfill,’ he said. Following discussions with family car travellers, Wahyudi noted average petrol consumption ranges between 20-44 litres per day, which is reasonable and in line with needs. ‘Let us work together to ensure subsidized and compensatory petrol stocks remain available, so the public can be served smoothly according to their needs. This way, the best efforts in supply and distribution can be maintained, and public activities proceed normally,’ he explained. Meanwhile, Anun, a frozen meat logistics truck driver, said he benefits from the availability of subsidized diesel to support his distribution in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi. He refuels about 50 litres daily. Hendra, a Jakarta-Yogyakarta travel bus driver, also reported easy access to subsidized petrol at service stations during his journey. ‘I need about Rp400,000 worth of diesel to reach Yogyakarta and purchase subsidized petrol as needed. Thank you for the consistent availability of subsidized petrol,’ he said. At the same event, BPH Migas Committee Member Harya Adityawarman, also known as Didit, stressed that subsidized petrol is a state-funded resource, so usage must be targeted. He reminded the public not to misuse government-provided subsidies. ‘There is a subsidy on diesel. State funds are involved; it must be used by eligible consumers,’ he explained. Didit also highlighted the importance of safeguarding QR codes as a distribution control instrument for subsidized petrol, stating they must be used responsibly and not shared with others. The monitoring activity was attended by Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Karawang Retail Sales Area Manager Ancala Egah and Karawang II Fuel Sales Branch Manager Heidy Septiana Nugroho.
