Jakarta – Indonesia’s Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPH Migas) has assured adequate energy supply for the Ramadan period and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah following a monitoring visit to Pertamina’s Refinery Unit VI Balongan in Indramayu Regency, West Java.

“The government continuously ensures adequate and reliable energy supply during Eid al-Fitr 2026,” stated Erika Retnowati, member of the BPH Migas Committee and head of the National Energy and Mineral Resources Sector Task Force, in an official statement received in Jakarta on Sunday.

Retnowati conducted monitoring of fuel oil (BBM), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and electricity supply availability to ensure they remain stable during the mudik (homecoming) period and Eid celebrations.

She emphasised that Balongan Refinery plays a strategic role in supplying various fuel and LPG products to meet the needs of communities in West Java and the special capital region of Jakarta.

The government, together with state-owned enterprises, continues to increase fuel reserves to anticipate higher consumption during the mudik season and Eid holidays.

“Fuel reserves are continuously enhanced by both the government and assigned enterprises. Currently, petrol reserves stand at 25 days, whilst for certain products such as Pertadex, reserves reach 45 days, and for aviation fuel required by the public, reserves reach 37 days,” she said during the refinery visit on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

With these conditions, Retnowati stressed that the public need not worry about energy availability during the mudik period and Eid al-Fitr 2026 celebrations.

The government continues to ensure smooth energy distribution so that public needs can be met safely and reliably.

Furthermore, Retnowati explained that the national electricity system possesses sufficient power reserves to anticipate electricity demand.

These conditions demonstrate that the national electricity system is adequately positioned to meet public electricity needs during Ramadan through Eid al-Fitr 2026.

“For electricity supply, peak load during Eid is estimated to reach 31,000 MW, whilst supply capacity is 51,000 MW, providing a reserve of 16,000 MW, which represents 48 per cent of total supply,” she stated.

At the same location, Laode Sulaeman, Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, also explained that energy demand fulfilment conditions—including fuel, LPG, and crude oil—during Eid 2026 are running well and remain secure.

“Whether it is crude oil, fuel stocks, or LPG, all are available and the public need not panic about current conditions. We are also implementing innovations including optimal fuel utilisation according to requirements,” he said.

The visit was also attended by BPH Migas Committee member Bambang Hermanto, Acting Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Tri Winarno, and Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director Mars Ega Legowo Putra.
