BPH Migas Clarifies No Restrictions on Pertalite and Solar Purchases
Jakarta – The Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPH Migas), Wahyudi Anas, has clarified the widespread media reports regarding restrictions on purchasing Pertalite and Solar fuels.
Previously, this issue was widely reported in the media, referencing a circulating document titled Decree No. 024/KOM/BPH.DBBM/2026 dated 30 March 2026, signed by the Head of BPH Migas, Wahyudi Anas, complete with the official BPH Migas letterhead.
He emphasised that there are no restrictions on purchasing Pertalite and Solar fuels, nor any policies on adjusting non-subsidy fuel prices. Therefore, Wahyudi assured that fuel purchases, both subsidised and non-subsidised, are still running normally.
“Up to now, fuel purchases are normal, whether subsidised or state-compensated. Including other general fuel types, there are no restrictions or adjustments (to prices),” said Wahyudi at the BPH Migas office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
He also asked the public to be patient and wait for the official government decision on the matter. “Because everything will be measured and determined by the government. The key is there,” he stated.
Nevertheless, Wahyudi did not explicitly explain whether the Decree No. 024/KOM/BPH.DBBM/2026 dated 30 March 2026 that has been circulating is a hoax or not.
He only stressed that if the letter was indeed issued by his office, it would certainly be distributed to ministries and agencies and uploaded to the official BPH Migas website.
“An official letter, if issued by BPH, will be issued officially. It will go to various places, and the document will definitely be submitted to relevant ministries and other agencies. If it hasn’t reached there yet, then it’s not in our condition,” said Wahyudi.
When asked if the document had actually leaked before being officially announced by BPH Migas, Wahyudi also did not answer definitively. He only reiterated that the public should be patient, awaiting the official government decision on the matter.
“Our position should not be forced into whether it’s a leak or not. It’s better for friends who already know. We convey the statement that everything is waiting for the government,” said Wahyudi.
