Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPH Migas) has assured that the Cilacap Refinery Unit (RU) IV and Maos Fuel Terminal (FT) in Cilacap Regency, Central Java, are operating optimally to maintain fuel stocks during the 2026 post-Eid return flow. BPH Migas Committee Member Eman Salman Arief, in a statement in Jakarta on Friday, explained that the supply and distribution in Central Java during the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Fitr return flow are running smoothly. According to him, the operational reliability of the refinery and energy distribution in the region has been prepared optimally well in advance, including through cross-sectoral coordination. “BPH Migas has directly heard presentations from the Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Regional Team and the Cilacap Refinery that all infrastructure and operations have been well prepared to face the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr return flow,” he said during an inspection of the Cilacap Refinery and FT Maos on Thursday (26/3/2026). The Cilacap Refinery, which contributes 30 percent of the national fuel processing capacity, serves as a strategic point in maintaining domestic energy resilience. Production of various types of fuel such as Pertalite, Pertamax, and LPG has been increased to anticipate surges in public consumption during the homecoming and post-Eid return flow. Eman stated that various innovations are also continuously being implemented at the Cilacap Refinery to enhance capacity and production reliability, including the development of biorefinery. “We express our thanks for the support during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period, as well as in providing national energy,” he revealed. However, Eman reminded that refinery operations must continue to uphold aspects of health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE).
