BPDP Showcases Flagship Programmes and Supports Plantation SMEs at Surabaya Great Expo
The Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) is participating in the Surabaya Great Expo (SGE) as part of efforts to broaden public education while introducing the various programmes it runs to support the development of Indonesia’s palm oil, coconut, and cocoa plantation sectors. BPDP is also promoting plantation-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) so they can move up the value chain, become more competitive, and be innovative in processing the potential of Indonesian plantation commodities.
BPDP’s participation in the exhibition serves not only as a means of disseminating information but also as an opportunity to demonstrate how its programmes benefit various stakeholders in the plantation sector, particularly coconut, cocoa, and palm oil.
Visitors to the SGE can learn about BPDP’s programmes, which include Plantation Human Resource Development, Plantation Research and Development, Plantation Promotion, Plantation Replanting, Plantation Facilities and Infrastructure, and the Development and Utilisation of Biofuels.
These programmes are part of BPDP’s efforts to drive excellence not only in production but also in creating competent plantation human resources, increasing productivity, and generating innovations that benefit surrounding communities.
As a form of support for the development of plantation-based MSMEs, BPDP is featuring a chocolate processing MSME called Chocolate Raddina from Jember and a palm oil batik MSME called Jayanti Batik from Malang. The presence of these two MSMEs provides an opportunity to introduce value-added products derived from Indonesian plantation commodities to the wider public while expanding marketing opportunities and business networks.
Mujiono Hardiansyah, a Junior Analyst at BPDP, said, “We are presenting BPDP partner MSMEs engaged in chocolate processing and palm oil batik as a manifestation of BPDP’s commitment to encouraging the downstream processing of plantation commodities. We hope their participation in the SGE can open up wider market opportunities, strengthen business networks, and increase public appreciation for superior Indonesian plantation-based products.”
Mujiono further stated that BPDP’s participation in the SGE is one of the efforts to increase public knowledge about the role and function of BPDP as well as to introduce downstream products derived from plantations such as palm oil, coconut, and cocoa.
“BPDP’s participation in the SGE is part of our efforts to bring BPDP’s various programmes closer to the public. Through this educational booth, we want to provide a broader understanding of BPDP’s role in supporting the development of the plantation sector, while showcasing the tangible results of the programmes that have been implemented,” he added.
BPDP’s participation in the SGE also serves as a means to strengthen synergy with local governments, business actors, and the community. BPDP continues to build collaboration with various parties to expand the reach of its programmes and increase public understanding of BPDP’s role in supporting sustainable plantation development.
BPDP invites all Surabaya Great Expo visitors to visit the BPDP booth, learn more about the programmes it runs, and see first-hand the product innovations from BPDP partner MSMEs that are part of efforts to increase the added value of Indonesian plantation commodities.
