BPDP ready to connect plantation SMEs with investors

The Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) has stated it is ready to connect micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the plantation sector with potential business partners, investors, and communities interested in developing plantation-based businesses. Helmi Muhansah, Head of the Community Partnership and SME Division at BPDP, said the agency remains committed to supporting the development of plantation SMEs through various programmes focused on increasing business capacity, expanding market access, and strengthening the downstream processing of plantation commodities. “Indonesian plantation commodities have great potential to be developed into value-added products,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday. One such effort is facilitating their participation in the Info Franchise & Business Concept (IFBC) exhibition with the theme “Grow Beyond Boundaries” at the Jogja Expo Center, Yogyakarta, from 3 to 5 July 2026. At the exhibition, BPDP will present hundreds of business opportunities to encourage the growth of SMEs and elevate them to the next level in building the national economy through innovation and collaboration. “This is a momentum for BPDP to connect plantation SME players with potential business partners, investors, and communities interested in developing plantation-based businesses,” he said. Helmi added that the IFBC is a strategic platform to introduce various superior products derived from plantation commodities to the public, business players, and potential investors. “We hope that through this event, more entrepreneurs will emerge who are capable of processing plantation potential into innovative, competitive products with strong marketability in both national and global markets,” he said. BPDP hopes that more people, especially the younger generation and aspiring entrepreneurs, will see the plantation sector not only as a producer of primary commodities but also as a source of innovation and sustainable business opportunities.
