BPDP Partners with MSMEs to Accelerate Downstreaming Through 52 Programmes
JAKARTA – The Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) continues to actively support the growth of innovative, independent and sustainable palm oil MSMEs. The agency consistently provides various capacity-building programmes, promotional facilitation and competitiveness strengthening so that these businesses can move up a class.
As of June 2026, cooperation between MSMEs and BPDP has reached 52 programmes, involving farmer associations, higher education institutions, ministries, the media and even Islamic boarding schools. Helmi Muhansyah, Head of the Community Cooperation and MSME Division at BPDP, said the agency continues to support human resources development in the palm oil sector.
This includes technology adoption and the acceleration of downstreaming in Indonesia’s palm oil industry towards a competitive and sustainable industry. The aim is for MSMEs to also possess high-quality products.
“Technology and industrial downstreaming must not only benefit large-scale processing sectors, but must also open opportunities for MSMEs to produce innovative palm oil-based products with added value and competitiveness,” said Helmi in a press statement in Jakarta on Friday (10/7/2026).
