BPDP Opens 2026 Research Grant Programme to Boost Plantation Innovation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP), one of the special mission vehicles (SMVs) of the Ministry of Finance, has once again opened the 2026 Research Grant Programme as a form of support for the development of national plantation sector research. According to an official statement from the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta on Monday, the programme aims to increase productivity and efficiency, maintain sustainability, and encourage the emergence of new products and markets with added value, particularly for palm oil, cocoa, and coconut commodities. Research funding support is expected to strengthen the plantation sector from upstream to downstream and provide benefits for industry, government, and society. In implementing the programme, BPDP invites research and development institutions in Indonesia to submit research proposals through the official website https://program-riset.bpdp.or.id/ no later than 30 June 2026. The scope of research fields that can be proposed in this programme includes bioenergy; biomaterials and oleochemistry; food, feed, and health; land, soil, and cultivation; post-harvest and processing; waste processing and environment; as well as socio-economics, management, business, markets, and information and communication technology (ICT). Through these various fields, BPDP encourages research that is not only oriented towards technological development but also towards strengthening economic, environmental aspects, and sustainable plantation industry governance. In line with the commitment to maintaining integrity and service quality, BPDP emphasises that the implementation of this programme is carried out with the principles of Clean, Accountable, Integrity, and Excellence (BAIK), to support the realisation of an integrity zone towards a corruption-free region. With the opening of the 2026 Research Grant Programme, BPDP hopes for increased active participation from academics, researchers, and practitioners, thereby producing innovations that strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of Indonesia’s plantation sector.
