The dynamics of candidacy for the prospective general chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) are beginning to be coloured by strengthened support from the regions. The direction of organisational development, which emphasises economic networking, has emerged as one of the key issues.

The Regional Management Board (BPD) of Hipmi Bengkulu has expressed support for the prospective Chairman of the Executive Board of Hipmi, Ade Jona Prasetyo. The recommendation was handed directly by the Chairman of BPD Hipmi Bengkulu, Yosia Yodan, to Jona on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

Yosia stated that the support was given after absorbing aspirations from branch officials in the regions.

“After canvassing aspirations with fellow branch officials, we agreed to provide support to Jona,” said Yosia in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

According to Yosia, the idea of strengthening Hipmi as an economic power network is deemed relevant for driving the growth of young entrepreneurs in various regions. This approach is expected to enhance connectivity, access, and collaboration among business actors.

“I believe the ideas brought by Jona will be accepted by all parties. Not only by regional officials, but even down to the branch level,” he said.

In response to the support, Ade Jona Prasetyo stated that he would accommodate regional aspirations in formulating the organisation’s work programme.

“Alhamdulillah, I accept this recommendation of support with full gratitude. Of course, we will also accommodate the aspirations of Hipmi colleagues in the regions,” said Jona.

He assessed that strengthening collaboration between entrepreneurs in the centre and the regions is key to driving economic growth, especially in the post-pandemic era.

“I will strive to make Hipmi increasingly relevant, productive, and provide real benefits for members, MSMEs, and the wider community,” he said.

Strengthened support from the regions is expected to continue leading up to the 2026 Hipmi National Conference, alongside increasing attention to the organisation’s strategic direction in promoting the role of young entrepreneurs in the national economy.
