BPD Bali Wins Award for Sustainable MSME Development
Bank BPD Bali has won the ‘Program Bisnis Terpuji’ award in the Regional Bank Driving Sustainable MSMEs category at the detikBali-Nusra Awards 2026. The award was received by BPD Bali’s Director of Business, I Nyoman Sumanaya, representing President Director I Nyoman Sudharma, at The Trans Resort Bali on Friday (3/7/2026). The award recognises the bank’s commitment to driving regional economic growth through sustainable financing for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). BPD Bali was assessed as being consistent in acting as a regional economic engine through the distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR) and productive sector loans. These efforts not only expand access to financing but also help MSMEs to upgrade through business mentoring, digitalisation, and the application of green finance or environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. Throughout 2025, BPD Bali distributed Rp 1.768 trillion in KUR to 8,946 debtors across Bali. This distribution helped thousands of MSME players obtain additional working capital or investment to develop their businesses. Beyond financing, BPD Bali is also actively accelerating MSME digitalisation. This is achieved through the expanded use of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), the provision of non-cash payment services, and support for the digitalisation of traditional markets and home-based businesses to help them reach wider markets. BPD Bali’s contribution spans various strategic sectors, from agriculture and fisheries to the creative industry and local handicrafts. This support is considered instrumental in creating jobs while encouraging sustainable regional economic transformation. Furthermore, BPD Bali provides mentoring, financial literacy, and business management training to MSME players to enhance their competitiveness in the modern market.
