BPBD West Aceh Socialises Technical Guidelines for Flood Victim Rehabilitation Fund Distribution
The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) has approved assistance for 73 residents’ houses to receive repair aid in West Aceh Regency. Meulaboh (ANTARA) - The West Aceh Regency Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) held a socialisation of the technical guidelines (Juknis) for implementing stimulus aid for the repair and construction of homes for communities affected by hydrometeorological disasters in Pante Ceureumen sub-district, in the regency. “This socialisation is an effort to provide understanding regarding the mechanism of aid distribution that will be received later,” said Acting Head of BPBD West Aceh, Teuku Ronal, to reporters on Friday. He stated that this socialisation is very important so that the community clearly knows the process, requirements, and stages of implementing the stimulus aid. Teuku Ronal said that BNPB has approved 73 residents’ house units to receive repair assistance in West Aceh Regency. The amount of aid that the community will receive varies: houses in the moderately damaged category will receive Rp30 million per unit per household head (KK), and lightly damaged houses will receive Rp15 million per unit per KK. He mentioned that the fund distribution will be carried out non-cash through the respective accounts of the beneficiaries, and while BPBD is validating the accounts, it is coordinating with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) as the distributing bank (Himbara). In accordance with the Technical Guidelines (Juknis) that have been signed by the Regent of West Aceh, he said, the fund disbursement mechanism will be divided into two stages: the first stage of 80 percent and the second stage of 20 percent will be disbursed after the repair progress reaches a certain stage. In addition, the aid also includes an operational cost allocation of 25 percent from the initial disbursement, aimed at ensuring the community is not burdened. “The community does not need to worry, because the funds are not only for building materials but can also be used for transportation costs and other supporting costs through the operational funds,” he explained. The West Aceh Regency Government hopes that with this assistance, disaster-affected residents in West Aceh can quickly repair their homes to make them habitable.
