The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) DKI Jakarta reported that the status of the Pasar Ikan sluice gate in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, rose to Alert Level 1 (Siaga 1) on Monday night.

According to information from the BPBD DKI Jakarta official X account (@BPBDJakarta), the water level at the Pasar Ikan sluice gate was recorded at 249 cm at 21:00 WIB, placing it at Alert Level 2 (Siaga 2). By 22:00 WIB, the water level had risen to 260 cm, triggering the Danger status or Alert Level 1.

“Anticipated areas likely to be affected include: Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, and Kalibaru,” the BPBD stated on its official X account.

BPBD DKI Jakarta has disseminated information via social media, SMS blasts, and direct notifications to sub-district heads (camat) and village heads (lurah) regarding the increased alert level. In the event of an emergency, residents are urged to contact the Jakarta Siaga call centre at 112.

Meanwhile, water levels at other sluice gate locations, including Katulampa, Depok, Manggarai, Karet, Krukut Hulu, Pesanggrahan, Angke Hulu, Waduk Pluit, Cipinang Hulu, Sunter Hulu, and Pulo Gadung, are reported to be at normal or Alert Level 4 status.
