The South Sumatra Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded 34 hotspots detected within the region as of 05:30 WIB on Tuesday, 2 June 2026. Sudirman, Head of the Emergency Response Division of BPBD South Sumatra, stated in Palembang that the distribution of hotspots is still dominated by Muara Enim Regency with 14 points. “Muara Enim is the area with the highest number of hotspots today,” he said.

Following Muara Enim, hotspots were also detected in South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency with seven points, and North Musi Rawas Regency with four points. Furthermore, Musi Banyuasin Regency recorded three points, while Ogan Ilir, Ogan Komering Ilir, Ogan Komering Ulu, Empat Lawang, and Musi Rawas each recorded two points. Additionally, Banyuasin Regency, Lahat Regency, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, and Prabumulih City each recorded one hotspot.

According to weather forecasts from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency, weather conditions in South Sumatra are generally sunny to partly cloudy in the morning. However, light rain is potential in several areas from midday to the afternoon. Areas at risk of rain include Ogan Komering Ilir, North Musi Rawas, Musi Rawas, Lubuklinggau City, Empat Lawang, Pagar Alam City, Lahat, Muara Enim, and South Ogan Komering Ulu.

BPBD South Sumatra has reminded the public that most areas are currently in a highly flammable category, and residents are urged to refrain from land burning to prevent forest and land fires.
