BPBD: Construction of Temporary Housing in West Aceh Completed
Meulaboh (ANTARA) - The West Aceh District Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has confirmed that the construction of 12 temporary housing units (huntara) in Lawet Village and Jambak Village, Pante Ceureumen Sub-district, has been fully completed.
“Alhamdulillah, the entire construction of huntara in West Aceh has been completed before Eid al-Fitr,” said Acting Head of West Aceh BPBD, Teuku Ronald, to ANTARA in Meulaboh on Friday night.
He stated that the construction of huntara in Lawet Village had been successfully completed by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in accordance with the specified deadline.
However, he said, the community has not yet occupied the temporary housing, as they are still awaiting the completion of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriyah celebrations.
“If the facilities are already finished, we just need to complete the contents of the huntara,” he added.
Meanwhile, the huntara in Jambak Village has currently been occupied by six family heads since Tuesday (10/3).
Teuku Ronald said that the six family heads have also received complete facilities from BNPB, West Aceh BPBD, Baitul Mal, and the West Aceh District Government.
“We have equipped them with supporting equipment such as stoves and other appliances, including all basic needs,” he stated.
Previously, West Aceh Regent Tarmizi said that a total of 12 huntara units have been prepared overall by BNPB in West Aceh District.
During this transitional period, the government, together with BNPB and the West Aceh District Government, also guarantees the availability of logistics and basic food assistance for the evacuees occupying the huntara.
The West Aceh Government also urges the community that has already occupied the temporary housing to live in harmony, maintain good relations, and communicate well.
