BPBD Battles Fires to Curb Land and Forest Blazes in Palangka Raya

The Palangka Raya Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) in Central Kalimantan extinguished a land and forest fire behind the Kameloh Baru sub-district office in Sabangau District on Monday (27/7). This operation was part of the response to 10 fire incidents that burned approximately 11.45 hectares of community land. Since the emergency alert status for land and forest fires was declared on 1 June until the end of July 2026, BPBD has recorded a total of 109 fire incidents with a combined affected area reaching 54.44 hectares.
