The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, has recorded that as of the seventh day following the earthquake in the area, the total number of damaged houses has reached 2,735 units. “The number of damaged houses continues to increase, with details of 212 units severely damaged, 596 units moderately damaged, and 1,927 units lightly damaged,” said Emergency Response Task Force Commander Samuel Yansen Pongi in Dolo on Monday. He noted that five villages experienced the most severe residential damage due to the earthquake, namely Uwenuni, Kamarora A, Kamarora B, Lembantongoa, and Tongoa. According to him, a total of 92 residents were injured, comprising 14 seriously injured and 78 lightly injured. “We have also submitted a request for the construction of 210 temporary shelters (huntara) to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) for residents whose houses were severely damaged,” said Samuel Yansen Pongi. “Later, during the rehabilitation and reconstruction phase, the government will begin distributing stimulant aid to affected victims based on the established level of house damage, namely houses in the lightly damaged category will receive Rp15 million, moderately damaged Rp30 million, and severely damaged Rp60 million,” he added. The emergency response status for the disaster in Sigi Regency is set to end on 30 June 2026.
