Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Badan Pemulihan Aset (BPA) of the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has handed over a state-confiscated asset to the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of Kejagung to support operations. The asset, comprising land and a building confiscated from convict Arie Lestario Kusumadewa, is located in South Jakarta and covers 788 square metres. Quoting a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, BPA Head Kuntadi said the confiscated item would be used as accommodation for members of the Special Task Force for Handling and Resolving Corruption Cases (Satgassus P3TPK) and staff to improve performance in resolving corruption cases at the investigation, prosecution, and execution stages. “With the signing of the handover minutes today, all rights, obligations, and responsibilities for managing and maintaining the asset officially transfer to the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes,” he stated. He also noted that the handed-over asset had undergone strict verification and physical inspection to ensure it was in good condition, complete, and ready for use. Meanwhile, Kejagung’s Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah appreciated the BPA for properly handling, securing, and transferring the asset. With good handling, he added, this state-confiscated asset could change status to legitimate state property and be used optimally for institutional interests. “I hope that the asset handed over today can be managed orderly, professionally, and responsibly, truly adding value to the duties of Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes personnel,” he said. This asset handover embodies law enforcement oriented towards asset recovery, ensuring that every asset from corruption crimes can be recovered, secured, and utilised for state interests. Furthermore, this handover reflects Indonesia’s commitment to implementing the UNCAC (United Nations Convention Against Corruption) through the BPA, which plays a strategic role in tracing, securing, managing, and supporting the return of assets from criminal acts as part of strengthening the primary asset recovery authority.
