BP Ultimate Diesel Price Update: Filling Up a Palisade's Tank Now Costs Rp 2.1 Million

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – BP Indonesia has officially lowered the price of BP Ultimate Diesel starting 8 May 2026. The diesel fuel is now sold for Rp 29,890 per litre, a drop of Rp 1,000 compared to the previous price of Rp 30,890 per litre.

This price adjustment affects the operational costs of diesel vehicles, including owners of the South Korean large SUV, the Hyundai Palisade.

The figure is cheaper than the previous period, when Palisade owners had to spend up to Rp 2,193,190 for a full fill-up.

Nevertheless, Palisade users still have alternative diesel fuels from Pertamina with specifications tailored to the engine’s needs.

Meanwhile, using Dexlite, which costs Rp 26,000 per litre, the total cost to fill the 71-litre tank comes to around Rp 1,846,000.

The use of high-quality diesel fuel is crucial for the Hyundai Palisade, which features a 2.2 CRDi (Common Rail Direct Injection) engine. This modern turbo diesel engine requires fuel with a high cetane number and low sulphur content to ensure complete combustion and protect the injection system components.

Continuous exposure to low-quality fuel risks damaging the injectors and causing deposit buildup in the combustion chamber. Therefore, many owners of this premium SUV still opt for non-subsidised fuel to maintain long-term engine performance and durability.
