BP to meet UNJ in soccer final
JAKARTA (JP): Buana Putri and State University of Jakarta (UNJ) women's soccer team breezed into the derby final of the 2001 women's soccer invitational on Sunday.
Jakarta-based Buana Putri beat Putri Priangan of Bandung 4-0 at the semifinals on Friday while UNJ outclassed Putri Belitung 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out.
The 30-year-old striker Yakso Bukor Piopen (center) scored a hat trick in the 23th, 66th and 69th minutes, respectively. Yakso tops the list of scorers with 15 goals in four matches and she has the chance to add more this Sunday.
Another Buana striker Maryana contributed a goal in the 57th minute.
In the other semifinal, Muliati of Putri Belitung scored first in the 20th minute but 20 minutes later, Hafifah Zahrah of UNJ netted an equalizer. The 1-1 draw did not change until the end of the match.
Only Hazila of Putri Belitung and UNJ captain Rina Ambar Dewanti managed to score a goal each in the penalty shootout so both teams were subsequently forced into a second penalty shoot- out. Finally, striker Bai Komariah K. of UNJ successfully executed her penalty. (ivy)
