BP Tapera Supports Housing Ecosystem Strengthening to Address Backlog
The Public Housing Savings Agency (BP Tapera) is supporting the strengthening of the national housing ecosystem to address the backlog through financing synergy, the provision of adequate housing, and cross-sector collaboration.
“As part of the national housing financing ecosystem, BP Tapera continues to support strengthening cross-sector collaboration to expand public access to adequate and affordable housing,” said BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho in Jakarta on Friday.
Through the management of the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP), BP Tapera is committed to presenting targeted housing financing while supporting the acceleration of the 3 million homes programme. Heru noted that as of 23 July 2026, the realisation of FLPP distribution managed by BP Tapera had reached 111,537 units, with a total financing value of IDR 13.9 trillion. The distribution was supported by 37 distributing banks, 21 developer associations, and 11,893 developers building houses in 9,841 housing estates across 35 provinces and 384 regencies/cities throughout Indonesia.
“This achievement reflects BP Tapera’s commitment to strengthening the national housing financing ecosystem to provide adequate, affordable, and sustainable housing for the community,” he said.
Previously, BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho accompanied the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, in a limited meeting with the Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, in Jakarta. The meeting discussed strengthening the national housing ecosystem through data integration, the use of information technology, regulatory formulation, and cross-sector collaboration to support the provision of adequate and affordable housing for the public.
Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait stated that strengthening information technology and data synchronisation is a key focus in improving the housing sector. The Ministry of PKP is also drafting a Housing Law that will integrate various aspects of housing administration, from data, financing, and land provision to cross-ministerial and institutional collaboration. Input from the Chairman of the National Economic Council is considered an important part of refining the policy to ensure it supports sustainable housing development.
Furthermore, the Minister emphasised the importance of optimising the use of state land for public housing development. The Ministry of PKP continues to coordinate with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), the Forest Area Stabilisation Task Force (PKH), and other relevant ministries and institutions. Various schemes, including cooperation with the private sector through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes, are also being studied to support the provision of housing for the community.
